What is USB Full Form

USB full form is a universal serial bus, as it is known by its name it is used for data transmission and data transmission in USB is in an asynchronous serial way only.

Versions of USB

1. USB 1.0

USB 1.0 was released in 1996 and had a maximum speed of 1.5 Mbps (Megabits per second) and its lowest speed of 0.1875 MBPS (MegaBytes per second).

2. USB 1.1

It was released in 1998 at 12.5 Mega Bits per second and at its lowest speed at 1.5 Megabytes per second.

3. USB 2.0

It was the most popular version of USB and is still used today. It was released in the year 2000. Its maximum data transmission speed was 480 megabits per second means the minimum speed was 60 megabytes.

4. USB 3.0

Gradually when the size of the audio-video image started increasing and 3.0 was released to transmit data at a higher speed.

USB 3.0 was released in 2008. If your device has a USB port of black color then the port is 2.0 but if that port is of blue color then it is 3.0.

The maximum speed of USB 3.0 is 5 Gbps (Giga Bytes per second) i.e. six 640 MBps (MegaBytes per second)

4. USB 3.1

With the passage of time, the reservation of video photos started increasing, the quality of audio started increasing and the file became very heavy, that’s why the USB community released the 2013 USB 3.1. Its speed increased to 10 Gbps means 1280 MBps.

USB 3.0 is called 3.1 GEN 1 and 3.1 is called 3.1 GEN 2.
